This is the basilisk Mac emulator ported to the gp2x emulating a 68040 processor and 20mb of ram. There is a 500mb disk image mounted with Mac OS 7.5.3. If you watch carefully, the emulator actually runs pretty fast but the mouse / cursor speed is set too slow. There is no sound and no virtual keyboard support in this version yet.

  • This will run much better when they port it to the Wiz. They will probably even be able to make Mac OS 8 or 9 run on the Wiz! It has double the power of the PSP.

  • Why would they need to port it? I thought the wiz was binary compatible with just a faster clock?

  • dear god that is slow, my 25mhz Quadra 700 is faster

  • the mac emulation is fast. if you look closely, it's the cursor that's fubar'd. The gp2x has no analog stick and the mouse speed is cranked up as high as it can.

the gp2x-F200 has a touch screen so hopefully that'll be a good mouse emulator once its rewritten.

  • amiga dude..u've got some cool taste in music.

btw, Im amazed with this os running on the gp2x..its almost like a laptop..amzing

  • Thanks. Although I wish the cursor would move faster. as you can see, that's what's made using it so very very slow. ...and the obvious reason is that there's no easy keyboard interface. Either way, if you don't have to navigate much and have to run a mac app on a palm size device, this is the way to go!

  • ive never seen this sort of player before

can anyone tell me what model it is?

  • what is the name of the song that is playing? Sounds pretty badass

  • needs a osk(ketboard), throw in some touch screen macro systems, sell them with sd cards or 9in1ports and a couple free cards some net services and these could become the hot thing.

  • I think they would need to change it so it takes advantage of the greater power.

  • did thay make a new version yet?

  • go that on the gba????

  • If you use the Key Caps utility in the Apple menu, you can type things on the onscreen keyboard, and then copy and paste text. That should hold you until virtual keyboard support is available.
