well, ignorent or not - this looks a bit primitive to me. I refuring to the use of gas as sedation and also somewhat the way it is done. And perhaps I wouldn't put things like this on youtube either (and yes I've bin to "wandotdo").

Poor baby. I looooooooooooooooooooooooove anesthesia by mask. I can't have anesthesia by IV. I get to turn my own anesthesia on and I tell ya. Surgery is very familiar to me cause Ive had like 50 or 60 or maybe more. :) I'll be praying for your baby. Did they use the blessed sevoflurane anesthetic? It really enhances my synesthesia, and I just loooove it. I really do.

youve got to think of the age of this baby. he probably wasnt really experiencing any of this. Even if he was, he doesn't remember a bit of it. at all. he doesnt remember thsi operation or trip to the hospital or anything, hes too young to have formed a memory. any bad things you see a baby go through until theyre like 3 imo you may as well ignore because it doesnt have any impact on a child because they dont remember..

The handling on the part of the anesthesiologist appears to be fairly remarkable, given the baby's movements...looks like nice coordination between doctor, nurse and parents, even as yet all things one would assume...
I do give the lad points for quality opinionation - nice little chime in as the mask was first being applied...didn't have had a clue what was happening (les enfants are like that), and of course, didn't for long, either...

He probably will sleep through it.

A usual mixture of oxygen , nitrous oxide & sevoflurane produces a sweetish rubbery smell that's not irritating to inhale ( I'm speaking from expierence ) and sleep comes very quickly as you see in the video , approx. 45 seconds to 1.5 minutes depending on the childs size and weight. The only reason this baby was balling and crying is because he was being physically manipulated and his movements restricted by the anesthesiologist and nurse. take my word for it , it wasn't " torcher " LMAO

For everyone here that's just freaking out over this , I can assure you that at no time was this baby in any pain , physical discomfort or experiencing any trauma. My favorite aunt is a nurse anesthetist at our county infirmary and her and I have had many long talks about this. The mask induction method is prefered for infants and small children because it's considered to be the least traumatic method of induction , and you don't have a screaming squirming child as you try to insert an IV.
