@mancheromanchero If you really can't pick out all the references to drugs in his music, you shouldn't even be listening to him, because they're blatant. "A Line Allows Progress, A Circle Does Not"? Hello? He's an alcoholic and a coke addict, among other things,
-
Is someone really questioning that Conor is a drug addict? Have you ever listened to any of his songs? Have you ever seen him live? Have you ever read an interview with him? I don't know if he's still sober now, but he will forever be a drug addict.

They sound heavier loud.
Good stuff.
-
i don't understand how such a studio sounding song sounds just as good live.
-
@oliverhart77 are u saying conor oberst is a drug addict? if so...explain
-
I really like this song, but this version is kind of weird.
The keyboard sound is too low
-
this is a very good version.

The live version is kind of weird.
I'm a bit disapointed.

one of my favorite songs by him... but to all you people sayin shit about lyrics.... when you get to the point he was at as a musician and still is you have hundreds of songs out and thousands more in notebooks somewhere so its very hard t keep lyrics in the right song. so yea he does it to fuck with people singing along but its also cause singing every word exactly how it is in the studio version would not only be extremely hard but it would take the fun outa live performances and outa music

I actually like the melody of the trumpet solo's

you guys that are saying he 'messed up' the lyrics to his own song are stupid.
he purposefully changes the lyrics to his song a lot when he sings them live, partly because he wants toidk maybe the meaning changes to him or he just gets sick of the old lyrics, partly cause he hates people singing along.
and if he does actually mess up and forget what he meant to say, who cares? you try getting up there in front of all those people and performing and not messing up once

he's infamously known for changing the words to songs while performing live. every song ive ever seen him perform live, somewhere in a song, he used different words. and i know drug/alcohol addiction is no joke, but if he wasnt the way he was with his vices and everything else, he probly wouldnt be so intense and wonderful. HerrAmn knows what i mean..
