Michael Pineda getting warmed up for his 6th Career start vs the Texas Rangers 5-4-11. Michael would up going 7.0 IP, 7 H, 4 ER, 9 Ks, 2 HR (first home runs allowed in his MLB career, first was to Mitch Moreland, a 95mph fastball sent 409FT to Center Field). Overall another great start for Michael Pineda, he even had Hall of Famer 300 game winner Gaylord Perry in the ballpark watching him tonight..

  • Welcome to The Bronx!!!!!!

  • hahaha @ yankee fans.

You keep trying to convince yourself you "won" this deal. You got a rookie who although impressed finished 9-10, and got blown up the second half once the hitters figured him out. Sure he will be good, but #2 good? Try Again.

Jack Z scouted Prince Fielder and recruited drafted him to Milwuakee when no one else would take a chance.....

I think Jack Z knows much more about evaluating talent than you clowns

  • Mr. Smooth

  • @graham0880 alright call me when you win a world series.

  • fuck sake can't beilive mariners let the a star player like that go

  • Go Yankees!!!! Can't wait.

  • Power and build of Bob Gibson, poise and precision of Pedro Martinez. Clubhouse manager Lou Cucuzza should issue him #45!

  • @graham0880 Its impossible to tell right now who won the trade. Both are the same age(I think Pineda is a few months older), both have little major league experience(Pineda obviously has slightly more). Montero is going into a pitcher friendly ballpark while Pineda is going into a hitter friendly ballpark. Give it maybe five years and then we can discuss who won this trade.

  • @Hercorles Both of you act as if that's any kind of good way to measure a pitcher's value.

  • Pinstripes!!!!

  • Montero is a good hitter but can't place defense for his life. This was an excellent trade for the Yankees who have just acquired a young possible ace with 5 years left on his contract. A good hitter is a dime a dozen a talent like Pineda is hard to find. I think Montero and Noessi could fit in well for Seattle but their rotation just took a big hit losing Pineda.
