Few people can say they've been to hell and back, but for the people of Liberia, it's true. More than twenty years of civil war left countless lives and the infrastructure of the nation destroyed. This documentary explores their efforts to rebuild and the incredible faith that sustains them in that overwhelming task. It was filmed on location in Liberia by my mother on her first trip there. She coordinates an effort by United Methodist Churches in Illinois to partner with Liberian churches to help rebuild the country. This is part one of three, all of which can be found on You Tube at the channel Liberiadocumentary. If you find yourself moved to help these people, you can contact the main office of the Illinois Great Rivers Conference of the United Methodist Church at 217-529-2040. They have safe and secure ways for you to donate. There are many ways, large and small, for you to help and a dollar goes a long way there. You can make a difference!

great MORE whites spreading the empirialist views of CHRISTIANITY AND THE GOD WHO apparently BELIEVES THAT BLACKS should continue to be treated like the monkeys of the whites and told to "dance/sing" whenever their WHITES missionary say so. just to portray how much they need the word of "god". just great. call me a skeptic but if we as americans want to go into these countries and do good, why do we ALWAYS have alternative motives. IE the search for diamonds or spread of GOD. COMES WITH A PRICE!
