"Once I dreamed we were together again, Baby you and me,
back in the old clubs the way we used to be.
We were standing at the bar, it was hard to hear.
The band was playing loud, and you were shouting in my ear.
You pulled my jacket off as the drummer counted 4.
You grabbed my hand and pulled me out on the floor.
You stood there and you started dancing slow, and as I pulled you tight I swore I'd never let you go."
Simply brilliant and heartbreaking.

Bruce is the best artist ever, period. Either you hate him or love him but I sure as hell love him! If it just impossible to point out a single song as being one's favourite. I have at least 50 songs that could go for the no.1 position. He's rushing the words btw...

I saw him deliver the song in San Diego while sitting on a tall stool in 1981, and it was PLENTY powerful

@hajo1221 you must just be plain crazy to think that way about Bruce.

@hajo1221 You must not know Bruce - he will NEVER lose his ability to write songs like these. He's been at it for over 35 years and still does it well.

When you find life has found you in its crosshairs you'll wake up crying and remembering this song.

I think this song would have been more powerful if Bruce sang it playing piano. On the Rising tour tours he would play Incident on 57th Street and songs like For You on piano. I think this song falls into that category.

He's done it before. He would use electric piano for "Point Blank" during the D&D tour. It was good, but I happen to like the band version more. Just my opinion
