Woozer at a karate tournament - losing at point sparring :)

My first time sparring at a tournament in probably 7 years...

This was right after another match, so I was pretty tired, but I also suck at point sparring, so tiredness was only partly responsible. The lady I'm sparring, Muriel, also did a great job. She has some quick hands.

I've never been competitive about sparring, I just think it's fun, so my having scored points during both of my matches was victory enough for me.

Also, I've been jokingly referring to the fact that I'm in the "old people divisions" at tournaments now because I moved from 18-29 to 30 & up, but this tournament sure did rub that in our faces by calling this division "Senior Women."

Nice vid. Question, how long have you been in martial arts anyway? I use to take it but quit when I was 14. And I did it for about 3 years and got a brown belt.

I do a lot better at forms and especially weapons, but just felt like sparring this time. My school is actually an MMA school, so point sparring is not really my thing, but sometimes it's just fun to play around and hit people and get hit, I guess.
