  • Btw - please watch this video in high quality ;)

  • Hi siim663, sorry for such a late answer.

The name of this song is "Day 69".

  • Elgrande555, write your comments in English, please.

  • Jeszcze większą klęskę poniosła cała niemiecka 1. Dywizja Pancerna w walkach pod Kiernozią. Została ona tam w dniu 16 września pokonana a następnie jej oddziały pancerne zostały okrążone i częściowo rozgromione (16 - 19 IX) - mam kilka fotek wraków czołgów z tamtych walk.

Eberbach.

  • I have noticed on the US History Channel; the Brits and the French are in denile!

The Poles published a booklet with conclusions from the Polish Campaign'1939 in Polish, French, and English.

The Brits and the French refused to read it!

The French Campaign was lost before it even began.

The Polish military doctrine was based on counterattack! The Brittish and French on defense, and ... even the Soviets understood that defensive doctrine meant a nearly automatic defeat!

  • So, 1) you still keep those 1.Line-Quality planes, in isolated fields, now? How many, SAVED? 2)They were 'Not stupid' you say, but Poles took a metaphor literally...That's stupid. // Fighting Germany (instead of finishing the 1920 job by destroying Sov Russia, jointly, along the Wehrmacht... How stupidly suisidal was that?

  • Most people, because of the persistent nazi propaganda from 1939 do get the situation within the Polish Armed Forces in 1939 in reverse!

The mounted infnatry or the so--called cavalry was equiped in an adequate or better manner to deal with the German tanks and airplanes. The Poles failed, however, their own G.I.'s or General Infnatrymen as shown by the Cwiklice massacre -- they tried to defend themselves from the panzer attack with a few ant--personnel cannons and anti--tank rifles! It sucked!

  • In fact most of the Germans armour forever lost in Poland was lost due to #1) mounted infnatry's anti--tank guns, and #2) bombing by "Los B," Polish bombers. The losses in equipment were substantial enough to make the nazi Germans postpone the French campaign to 1940.

#3) Poles knew how to train and provide adequate equipment to the shock troops such as 2 mechanized divisions, cavalry or mounted infantry brigades, circa 170 major tankmen, but gave mostly rifles & non-AT cannons regular G.I.'s!

  • Well it looks like they broke all their "commandments."

  • That's true. Both times we were occupied it was by the germans AND russians at the same time.

  • 1) Many of the 1st line quality Polish warplanes were moved to isolated fields, and the Germans destroyed some older planes during their surprise attack. Most Polish warplanes survived this attack.

    2) Polish cavalry NEVER charged Germans tanks with sabers and lance. They were not stupid and were heavily armed with AT guns etc. They did successfully charge German Infantry and German Infantry frequently refused to advance across open terrain without German armor support.
