Kenny was one of those GIFTS for any chat-show host (others were Peter Ustinov, Kenny Everett, Alan Coren and Billy Connelly).

Highly intelligent, he was a veritable fountain of anecdotes - and constantly changed voices as he spoke (he had four distinct voices he used, to suit the moment).

There'll never be another.

  • They don't make him like that anymore. Such a great line-up of guests, tho' I dunno who the lady is sitting between Dudley and Phil.

  • @rockinrex That's Page Three Stunner, Sam (Samantha) Fox. She was a topless model who had quite a career (in BRITAIN) as a personality and SINGER (she made a number of records for Pete Waterman, that did quite well). She's on YouTube - just do a YouTube search: Samantha Fox "Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now" ORIGINAL VIDEO stereo HQ - and you can see her doing her stuff! Also, there is a link in its "video responses" to a reading of hers of "I Only Want To Be With You" that's quite good too. Cheers!

  • i hate to think, that he seems so normal and such a happy man on tv but when you read his diaries you realise that so much was wrong with him. i was thinking about it last night and it just doesnt seem real because he just seems so happy like nothing gets him down. i may be only 16 and born long after his death. but i wish he was still around. and ido miss him loads. hes such a beauitiful amazing man. always loved R.I.P Kenny, 23 years ago this friday. :/ x

  • @lPinkRainn I agree. THANK you for an EXCELLENT comment. Best wishes.

  • interesting to see those two interact. Thanks for uploading.

  • @bigbosscentral90 - I guess it was quite a culture shock. The two came from VERY different backgrounds - but Joan was and is a PRO, and recognised the talent of Kenny...

  • What a great tallent Kenny was. If only he knew how much he was loved... the world's a much darker place without his wit and wisdom. :(

  • Wow, she really messed up her face

  • Poor Kenny, he looks so tired and full of malaise in this interview :(

  • Kennys birthday today :)

I miss this man so much I have all of his books he ever wrote and most of the carry on films.

such an amazing comedy actor and a caring sweet handsome man. But he does not look well here! Miss you Kenny so much as do the rest of us but you are happy where you are now and that is in the arms of God. :) xx

  • Such a great entertainer! Sadly missed!

  • What a cheer he is.

    God bless KW x

  • I know it's harsh but I hate to have to say I've heard that story at the begining with Maggie so many times in so many different interviews

  • @Breeslave you not think she looks good for being nearly 80?

  • Even Joan Rivers seemed speechless....

  • @MrSean677 Her and cher darling look like they are wearing rubber halloween masks of their own face! ughh!

  • "how do you rate yourself as a lover?" what a silly thing to ask kenneth williams... still he isn't bothered at all, as usual.

  • @lPinkRainn

Many comedians were (and are) troubled. Many gay sons of deeply homophobic fathers are troubled. Add in the difficulties of a life harder than I should like (the "Carry On...." films paid very little, and so did the quiz shows), and what chance did he have?
