an engine helps you get into trouble faster

Hi Lee, sorry about the arm - don;t give up. One little observation, a little more speed at take off will gove you a more roll control (you can always convert it to height afterwards).
Good luck in your flying career.

sorry about your arm. I hope you're flying high.

bad luck man...how did the arm heal? extra speed on launch is always good. speed is your friend. but when all else fails there are techniques to reduce the injury to your body. holding onto both downtubes with a hammer style grip when nosing in is likely to result in a broken arm or dislocated elbow. Google 'Rob Wenban how to crash' and read his article. I hope I never have to do it for real but better to have a plan and mentally reherse it if that day comes. good luck!

@CarlosHobbyRC quit searching for "hang glider crash" and look up "car crash"
then you'll want to fly where ever it is you're going!

not just the good...
life causes death.
the sooner people understand that, the better.

@CarlosHobbyRC anything good in life comes with a risk

I was thinking about hang gliding, but I give up on the idea after seeing endless accident clips like this one.

Nice Whack!

Gotta love them extra elbows.
The location where the accident occured was at a mine location in Alabama and not at Lookout Mtn. The location was a recipe for a accident and was screaming at me the whole time but I chose not to listen. It was full of gullies and lots of large rocks. When I launched the wind was nill with a ever so slight tail wind. I failed to appreciate how fast I needed to run on such a shallow launch and tripped on a blasted rock that I tried to fly over at the last second. Needless to say,it didnt work!

To all the people who posted positive remarks about this video I would like to update you and let you know that I realized that my accident was my fault, not the glider. I also learned from it. As sport aviators we all need to be humbled at some point in our lifes and this was one of those times. I still continue to fly every chance I get and I have been flying ultralight trikes for about a year now. I love the attributes from both powered and non powered wings.
