"kata" is a japanese term!!!!!!!!!!!!

Definately a Pudao. I have sets with both. Not only that, but there is no way someone handles a Kwandao like that. Not a traditional one. Not 15-20lbs. The weapon is not handled that way. Verticle plane and horizontal plane are the paths the weapon moves on. This is nice, but mis-titled or wrong weapon used.

It's the nine ring guan dao. it's shorter (about 70inches. Though it's definately wushu steel. A fifteen pound weapon is slower.

What they've said, it's a pudao. Kwan dao is longer.

totally, too short. Its a not so "DA", Da dao! lol.

i belive u got the pu-dao and the kwan-dao messed up

If I may--search for a nine-ring version of General Kwan's knife--none of them will have the serrated back edge. That's why I don't want a nine-ring version because it does look like a pudao w/ rings. {It's just a personal preference.}

I agree, it's a pudao.

it's a form that's meant for use with a pudao but sifu uses a guandao instead because he doesn't like the balance of a pudao. also he prefers a nine-ring guandao which has a ring instead of a spike at the base, as well as a uniform curved blade back that features nine rings. the rings probably originated with street performers who wanted to add some flash to their weapons.
It's a very nice form, but isnt' that a pudao instead of a kwan dao?
