Strategic and tactical battles for world domination on, under and above the open sea. Take command of NATO, the Nordic Alliance, Russia or the United States to battle the enemy.
Naval War: Arctic Circle is a Real Time Strategy (RTS) game where the player battles enemy naval and aerial forces for power and ultimate world domination. The game play takes place along the Norwegian and British coast, through Iceland and Greenland all the way to the North Americas and the North West Passage.
Naval War: Arctic Circle has an extensive campaign along with skirmish, LAN and on-line modes. In Arctic Circle, the factions includes the United States, the Russian federation, the Nordic countries and NATO. Ultimately, Naval War: Arctic Circle tells a story about a power struggle for control of the world's resources and supply lines in the Polar Regions.

Usually with radars but radars will alert the enemy to your position. Usually it is safer to use aircraft radar instead, especially AWACS airborne early warning radar if available. If you only have helicopter then order them to fly high then turn on their radar. Hope this helps.

How do I detect enemies first? I will be fine and then all of a sudden I get missile alerts and getting shot at but yet I cannot even see them.

air force has no presence, and not nearly enough force projection as a navy. an air force can destroy a navy, but a good navy can swat an air force out of the sky

Or brown/green as if it was after a nuclear war. Heck, in terms of realism, the sky never turns browngreen like that no matter how much radiation there is. I just don't understand games that think realism equals weird puke hues of color in the sky and/or terrain.

Why not have a beautiful solemn grey, blue or turquoise hue instead? Same framerate, same engine, same budget, same manhours, different numbers in the .ini files.

Why make it ugly on purpose, this i don't understand.

1:23 the problem is not that the graphics engine or models suck, it is the the art direction is so weird in its attempt at being realistic that it makes the same mistake many AAA games that try to look realistic does.. Making it look awful on purpose.

Real life does not look awful.

In most bad-weather scenes i've seen in this game, the sky is brown. Literally BROWN.

I've never seen any weather irl where the sky is brown or puke-colored.

SO depressing to look at, why not grey? Why not blue?

I'd like to see the airforce deploy a mobile airfield with all the protection required for it. Or deploy an airplane that can carry dozens of nuclear warheads without being detected. Both with an unlimited range.

The Navy on the other hand...
