Of course I do love it my friend.

I use Energizer NiMh 2450 MAh batteries in my Sangean, they work really well, a bit pricey at $25, but much cheaper than the LiPol battery pack for the Pure One Classic. The LCD on this radio is easy to read and I like the size and ease of use of this radio.

I actually was at The Good Guys yesterday and was very tempted to buy the DPR 69+, at this point I think I will go ahead and buy it, mainly because it's so much smaller and lighter than the Pure One Classic which is indeed Massive as you say, but I'm gling to wait until after my next pay day before I buy the thing. It seems to me as if a lot of the digital radios available in Australia all use the same menu user interface, I wonder if lots of these radios use the same chipsets.

Recording Radio is overratted I think. Most shows these days are available on the website as podcasts eg. sbs radio programs, 3RRR, PBS Radio.
The 2 speakers at 1W each could be something worth waiting for, but they necessarily come with bigger size and weight, and maybe since you already have the massive Pure One Classic, you might want something smaller, or maybe not, who am I to judge what radio you need

My Pure one Classic doesn't provide information about bit rage, reception statistics and frequency information as the Sangean Radios do, I'm highly tempted to buy the DPR 69+ or wait for the DPR 25+ which i understand has stereo speakers and an SD card slot for recording live radio, at least, that's according to the Sangean website.

I bought this radio today, and must say it ticks all the boxes.
The size is really good. The buttons are really responsive, and even though scrolling text is slow, I don't find much need to look at it very often. The speaker although 0.5W is still 2.25". That will beat any laptop speaker by a long shot, and has a normal sound that I don't find ear piercing.
Finding the right info about the station, eg. Bitrate, reception, is accomplished really easily by the info button.
I recommend it

digital radio broadcasting was delayed because of rain

Might want to invest in a microphone there...
Is the display backlight not working on your unit?

I might be a bit hard on the video When the the radio is plugged into mains power the back light will be always on. Then on battery power the back light will only be on 30sec after you press a button.
