School Bus Stop Safety Ad - 2safeschools Archives

This U.S. commercial produced by the Pupil Transportation Safety Institute points out the dangers at bus stops when motorists fail to obey the stop sign. Fines can be very high when cited for endangering children at the bus stop. That said and although I agree with this different approach and the message it remains not well known that in most years more children at the bus stop are run over by their own school bus than by all other vehicles combined. Crossing enforcement and escorting young children across the road is virtually ignored at many school districts. Children die as a result of essential safe crossing practices not strictly enforced.
