The TableTalk project is our final product from the course physical computing 2 at K3. The idea is to take something invisible and make it visible. We have chosen to work with speech, one of our key elements in our social interaction. We see our prototype as a cultural piece and not as a problem solving gadget. We want our technology to be secondary, or on the periphery to the bigger picture, giving the participants a visually exiting table. But if you sit at the table for a longer time you will hopefully understand how the table works.

  • nice arduino project! gives me ideas! allot of wirng since you just have one controller? how many leds are there?

  • @formulaformula1133 yeah it is just one controller. If I remember correctly we had something like 300 leds connected in pairs of three so 100 control points that each is individually controllable over a dmx protocol

  • how many arduino micro controllers are being used here?

is there a computer being used also?

  • there is only one arduino controlling everything. all the lights are controlled over dmx protocol. there is no computer at all involved.

  • I love the idea of a table whose patterns shift in response to your conversation... but I don't see why an arduino is needed and have a very strong feeling that there's AMAZING stuff you could be doing with this idea with little extra work.

  • the arduino is working like the brain in the table reading the data from the microphones and controlling the lights. We also have hopes for the table. if you have any suggestions just mail...

  • If there's more of one color than the other, that means the other guy should shut up.

  • I would love to go to a bar or coffee shop with these tables. And I would love to meet people by saying, "Your conversation looks literally pleasing!"

  • as cool as this is, what do you expect people to do with this????

  • @XxUnknownxX8 My first thought was, 'Wow that thing's gonna light up pretty quickly when I'm playing video games."

  • wow! This is one of the most interessting projects i have seen @youtube.

Are you recording the conversations... or much more interesstig: Is it possible to recreate the conversation from the "Fingerprint history"?
