We ice-skate on real ice in Norway, so if you want to ice-skate just grab your skates and find a frozen pond.

Also, in Oslo, every winter there is an ice-skating rink made close to the University square which pretty much everyone use during the winter, free of charge ofc.

@JTucker3 Yes, but the problem is that it's only during winter months. Do you know if the rink in Oslo is open to the public off-season? We have other rinks here, but the only ones that are allowed to use them off-season are the speed skaters and hockey players :(

Don't worry about it being slippery, it's just how norway is. Norway is on wettest countries in the world, couple that with the cold and you get solid ice covered by a thin layer of water. It takes practice, but you'll get the hang of it : ) I think you have to look real hard to find someone who's more elegant on the ice than the norwegians : )
