  • @TheZammy2blood: First thing do a BIOS update and also check if your motherboard has updated LAN drivers, it is mostly a driver compatibility issue.

  • i do same thing too always... i like ur apc ups i had one 500watts with that no one gave me software cd or cable to connect to pc... plz do review on ur apc coz i wanna buy one soon.. nice review... thump up

  • @tomyloveu: Yeah the APC UPS I use is a 1 KVA model name is APC RS 1000 will do a review about it soon.... it saved my ass about 2 years ago when there was a major spike a couple of things got burnt in the house..... the UPS also went bad but my computer a iMac and another PC that was attached nothing happened to it.

  • @geekyranjit oh thats nice how much it cost you... i wanna take out my local inverter 1.5kva and be on online ups... i needed atlest 1.5kva i never knew the different between inverter and ups when i gone to buy they said u can run pc on it and i felt good coz i would never know when power going and coming and on Tuesdays we have power cut from 10am to 6pm almost 8hr in that time i have 3 pc on 4 tubelight and 4 fans and it give me easy 8hr backup coz i add 2 180Ah battery for long back up..

  • @tomyloveu: I do not remember the exact cost of the UPS coz it was a couple of years ago but it was about 6K I have heard that the prices have come down a bit now, they also have a 1.5 KVA model APC RS 1500 I also purchased a extra battery pack for the UPS and it gives about 1.5 hrs of backup, without the extra batt pack it used to give about 25 -30 mins of backup........ BTW running computers on a inverter is a bad idea.

  • The APC software is a bloat., Its better you get the new powerchute edition it gives you get the web UI.

  • Thanks for sharing the tips. The only thing I use (that you already mentioned) is the use of extension cable for USB devices.
