it looks fine. i'm a black girl with my septum pierced as well though a lot of people tell me that i'm like... the first cutesy girl they've seen able to pull one off. i don't exactly have any scene kid, goth, emo edge to me. at least not anymore. i just have one ^^;;

Looks cute on you! I'm glad you chose a larger gauge, it's proportionate on your face.
You might consider a bead ring though, I think they look simpler, though you can't hide them.
