Growing blueberries in zones four through six creates the best results, as they prefer mild climates, full sun exposure and well-drained soil. Maintain a blueberry shrub, which produces fruit through the late summer and early fall, with helpful advice from a sustainable gardener in this free video on gardening.
How to grow not "how to talk unnecessary crap! I hate all these ladies (eHow) videos. You gotta show the process not give a lesson about where it grows, DUH!

@stevelau1933 Hi well wow 7.0 from what i have read about soil that is deadly to a blueberry. But i guess not if it is working for you.One thing i have noticed is that adding soil acidifer it takes a while to work like one season. And to answer your question yes it does make them grow so good.At frist it didn't seem to help I was thinking but patience is the answer good things come to all who wait hehe.I put pine bark mulch around mine 2 inches deep and add soil acidifer.thanks

My soil was tested to be around 7.0, and I've never had any problems growing blueberries. The only thing I did ways dig holes, plant them in, and watched them grow, and I've had them for a couple years already. This year they're finally big enough to put on fruit. They are growing pretty vigorously too.
Doe they grow even faster if I put soil acidifier on them?

@KC1971J When i planted my blueberry i had allready tested the soil it was high in ph not low.So i dug a square hole loaded in peatmoss and part soil then muched around the top of the plant with pine mulch. Then later on i added soil acdifer.I have the best luck with southern blueberries oneal has really growed. But the northern varities have not! Thanks

@arkansastrash320 That's a good point. My first blueberry plant died because I put lime on it. I bought it from Lowe's, and it didn't come with any planting instructions at all. They're not easy unless you get the ph in the range of 4.5 to 5.5. An easy potting mix is to simply mix equal amounts of peat, shredded pine bark, and sand. You won't need an acidifier with that mix. Equal amounts of peat and pine bark will also work great.

@nettie0930 Acid soil too high of ph and they either just stay the same size or will just slowly die.

They are not easy to grow.Only if you have acid soil and even then they need lots of care in feeding watering and if your soil is high in PH then you have a whole set of problems to tend to.Not discouraging anyone form growing but you don't just buy them plant them and forget them.Else your throwing your money away ...

@nettie0930 I dont know about coffee grinds, but we just brought a blueberry plant last month it was still kinda chilly in the morning so we decided to plant it when its warmer leafs turned yellow so i added some used tea bags and now its still a bit yellow but to me it does seem a little healthier for the plant. We planted our blueberry right next to our raspberry and here we have a lot or raspberries every year and they are delious

What kind of soil do you put blue berries and raspberries in? Also what do you feed them? Also do they like coffee grounds?
