Yamaha XS650 Starts after 15 years idle.

My new XS650 project.Bought off my good mate Ian Marshall (Bobbers motorcycles, Cardiff) Been standing in Ian's shop for 15 years. I cleaned the carbs out, put a new battery on it, Fresh petrol and it fired up. Amazing!!!!! Bratstyle here we come....

@PJ145 Is the special frame built differently from the regular frame? I cant seem to find a picture of the two frames in comparison. Just asking in case I get a hard tail kit if it would still work with a special.

Im hoping to get my first ride to be either an xs650 or an sr500.

I just got my 1981 Yamaha 650 Special II running after 15 years of sitting...I cleaned the spark plugs, got a new battery, cleaned out the carbs and gave it some new gas, and it started on the second kick. It wouldn't idle untill it worked all the old gas out of its system, but it ran. Now all i gave to do is buy new tire trubes to replace the old dry rotted ones...
