The pronunciation of Chhaya Ganguli is clear cut. Simplicity has enhanced the charm of this immortal kalam. Thanks Tausif sahib for this very good upload.

It's a wonderful and painful kalaam, i understood most of it but the last verse has mixed meanings. Can anyone translate this verse for me please - 'Sapet man ke varae raakhu jo jaae paoo piya ki khhatiyan' - Here its translated as 'I would surpress my feelings if i knew her tricks' but in Sabri Bros version its translated as ' I will give her pearls if i knew where she keeps her treasure'. Can someone plz tell me which one is correct? I feel the 1st one makes better sense. Thanks

Zehal-e miskin makun taghaful, duraye naina banaye batiyan;
ki taab-e hijran nadaram ay jaan, na leho kaahe lagaye chhatiyan.
Do not overlook my misery by blandishing your eyes,
and weaving tales; My patience has over-brimmed,
O sweetheart, why do you not take me to your bosom.
