  • WOW THANKS FOR PUTTING THESE UP!

I listen to these recordings every night

  • They are in ewtn free to download i only put the images, because i thought youtube would reach more people.

These are great to hear I like to read Chesterton's literature especially The Everlasting Man. Everytime I read that book it seems like he's alive fighting nowadays arguments.

  • I just bought Everlasting man. I just finished reading orthodoxy.. it was amazing

  • After reading that book your way of thought totally changes. I would also recomend miracles by CS Lewis...i haven't finished it, but the writing is kindda similar.

  • And with Michael Jackson's death you'd think Jesus Christ himself had died. It says alot about our society that these are the people we deify, while great men like Chesterton aren't even known.

  • IMHO Chesterton is sadly more unknown than unpopular these days.

  • As much as I admire the mind of Chesterton, lose the British accent.

  • @lovellespice Yeah, but he (like myself) was a layman, sort of neither high or low church. But technically all Anglicans are both catholic and reformed. But all love his books.

  • @Youlube32 oh yeah! much to the disappointment of tolkien, he did convert to anglicanism! oh well..

  • @lovellespice Lewis was an Anglican though lol. Still three great minds all the same.

  • hillaire belloc, cs lewis, chesterton.. ahhh the trifecta of Catholic intelligentsia

  • @TenderTrap86 I'm a wannabe Chesterton, too. :P

It's a pity more people don't know about him.

  • @TenderTrap86 Individualist seems to be a misnomer for someone who will not accept advice from anyone. The true indiviualist is, I think, like you and I. We think for ourselves, and we choose to invest our thoughts in good thoughts. It's like the difference between a man who will only invest money in his own business, whether it be sound or not, because he wants to be right; and a man who may invest in himself, but chooses to invest in one that has been proven sound, because he wants to be rich.

  • @GenghisKhan44 Yes, and all the self-proclaimed individualists out there ceased to be individualists when then they declared themselves to be an individualist. For if even more than one person embraces individualism, individualism, itself, actually ceases to exist.

I do believe in thinking for yourself. But, personally, I chose for myself that I'd rather have the Church do most of my thinking for me.

(I'm kind of a Chesterton wannbe) lolz

  • I was just thinking to myself this morning at Mass: We Catholics oppose secular humanism. However, secular humanists oppose it, too! Many state one of the reasons Christianity is a failure is because of the evil it has spread to the world. They cite things like Crusades, Inquisitions, and "bad Christians". And I agree, all of those things are bad, but they are not part of the Church. Humanism is this: following one's own human opinions of what is moral. This is also often the definition of sin.

  • I've been reading "What is Wrong with the World". I'm only up to page eleven, but I've found I share a lot of common intellectual ground with him.

We have GOT to make him a saint.
