1983 tube stock toured the Met and District lines on December day back in 1996 and Fred was there to film it.

@Luxayan Because more trains were needed for the jubilee line extension, and these trains were unsuitable.

I see two old ones sat in the Sidings at South Harrow whenever i travel on the Piccailly Line, but the funny thing is why would the replace them after 13-14 years of sevice. Thats soo less

The 1983 tube stock is like a brother/sister to the D78 Stock I seen one driving motor carrage at the Museum depot at Acton Town
haha at a pert its big brother and lital brother side to side at erls court

If they didn't have those silly little doors, they'd probably still be running the line today.

Very nice Jubilee line day public transports! How sad isn't gone disappear.... Well I have memory of that train anyway.

2:35 the contrast between the '83 and the D stock is massive - apart from the fact that one is tube and the other sub-surface
