@Testimmerd91 yes i know all that :P but i don't care if a system affects a situation directly or not, the result is the same, so WITH ABS, understeering is being reduced, though steering is not necessarily correlated to braking. And that's the point i'm trying to make, in nearly any game it's like "you're braking and steering? You're out" but in reality it's only like that if you brake really hard! Sensitive braking does not really cause understeering with ABS. Agree?
@HESXENON hard understeering (or oversteering) its just a sliding of the wheels in a perpendicular way compared to the cars longitudinal axis, and the only force (hypotetically comparable to blocking) is the slower rotation of the front wheels compared to the speed they would have if they would follow the correct trajectory, for an explanation of abs ''brother'' the tcs (also known as asr) go look at this, anyway the point is there is no such thing to control pure understeering directly,
@HESXENON okies :P by racing car i mean with close to no stock components, say gtr or higher classes, btw abs stands for antilock braking system, and it does exactly what it says, it prevents wheels from blocking, so when you're braking it diminishes the force you're using and therefore avoids skidding, and it does that repetively as long as you risk blocking your wheels, understeering has no correlation with blocking, unless you're braking WHILE understeering (which is just wrong anyway)
@Testimmerd91 hmm you're correct about the exhaust... ABS also affects your steering, since it's purpose is to minimize understeering so you can evade a e.g. child running surprisingly on the street. I don't think no racing car has ABS (traction control okay) since this just has become very basic... But i'll try to find it out.
@HESXENON i didn't understand what you meant by cutting down speed and the steering thing, i find the over/understeer in the game really really good, and man abs?? do you realise abs only affects your breaking? go google it.. probably you were thinking about traction control..in any case, racing cars never have suck things since its the racers job to control his breaking and throttle. And yes a real car doesnt sound like that because you should have a real exhaust system for that on your desk.
@Testimmerd91 LFS? But you have to admit it's not realistic if you cut down speed by 20 km/h and are unable to steer at all. That normally doesn't really affect steering if your car has ABS. And a real car does not sound like that. I'm not saying it's an arcade racer and the sounds are shit, neither of it would be true, but it's not realistic.
@HESXENON you should really try LFS man, you sound like you never tryed a good sim, from personal experience if you set everything well (included sound) it gets pretty damn realistic.
