  • Also, I'm thinking the method of execution was used shortly after hanging was declared cruel and unusual punishment. Think of what it would've been like to have seen a public hanging, instead of the electric chair.

  • I wonder if John Wallace, while claiming to be a Christian on Earth, after execution and death got a hot surprise? He turns up at what is to be God's House, and turns out to be the gates of Hell

  • Did Andy Griffith have to shave his head for this part, or did he wear a bald cap?

  • Thanks you for uploading this gem of a movie.

Griffith is always fantastic as a villain.

  • Sheriff Potts was a great man!

  • For a last meal, give Andy some hor' derves on Ritz Crackers. LOL

  • thats my fucking great g pa lamar potts bad ass man didnt take no shit this is his great grand son tyler lamar potts look me up on facebook got the papers to prove it my g pa is lamar potts jr GOT LOVE FOR THE FAM

  • 3:58 John Wallace is no longer cocky.

  • @orbison The first time, he was conducting an investigation and wanted to put Wallace off balance. This is a common law enforcement technique. I heard somewhere else that, while awaiting trial, Sheriff Potts would visit Wallace in Jail and they would exchange pleasantries and small talk - that too, is more common that you might think.

  • Interesting how Potts shakes Wallace's hand at the end when he didn't when they first met (see part 5) because he wanted to get right down to business. Perhaps he knew (more than Wallace did) that he was not going to walk away from his fate via a "phone call".

Congrats to Mr. Cash and Mr. Griffith on a great paring and great performance
