  • Was this in 03 when the hockey team made it to the frozen 4 or finals? Btw My friends and I have been talking: when UNH finally wins a National Championship the entire campus is gunna turn into a riot it will probably be 10x as big as this but i wasnt as this one just a estimation.

  • haha i was at this got hit with that smoke bomb shit a bunch of times and had to run as fast as i could not to get trampled. good times

  • Look at my first post. I wasn't talking about this video. I was talking about a different riot where a cameraman was maced while standing just inside a building. As far as those who caused trouble and rioted, they're just stupid and should have been arrested.

  • what are you talking about? he didnt target the camera man or arrest him? he told him to back up twice and then he continued on his way to go get the trouble makers. Being there that night actually did make you guilty of a crime... disturbing the peace, which was issued in local papers and blackboard students were told not to riot.

  • It appeared to me that he complied with the order given by the officer. Unfortunately, rather than ordering him to leave the downtown area, the officer just ordered him to "move". I have noticed that in recent years, police across the country are targeting camera crews more often during riots and other events where the police are using force.

  • I used to be a student at UNH, but I wasn't in Durham when the riots happened. Are you suggesting that just being there made someone guilty of a crime? It seems odd to me that the police would target someone who was filming when others were causing trouble elsewhere. I am of the opinion that the role of police should be to keep the peace and deal with actual crimes. The cameraman was told to move, so he moved from the sidewalk to an entryway just inside a building.

  • UMM no LOL they've never won a national title, unless you're talking about women's hockey, and I don't think the riot was for women's hockey

  • do you live or attend unh? where you there? I was and what I saw no one was an innocent bystander if they were outside they wanted to see shit go down. They were in the entry ways of buildings because they wanted to have a better view the police told people to disperse and move.

  • I was referring to innocent bystanders who were standing in the entryway of a building when they got maced, not rioters who were causing trouble. I have never condoned rioting, but I also don't think someone should be attacked for videotaping interactions with the police.

  • Apparently we're not talking about the same people. I was referring to a couple guys who were on the sidewalk videotaping the riots, then got threatened then maced by the cops after they moved into the entryway of a bulding. They weren't throwing anything. I was not suggesting that those who were throwing things were mistreated. They got what they deserved.
