  • Wow. I wish there were more organs in places like the Wirlitzer and the Morton. Thanks for the video response!

  • DrkOne,

I am a VCU alumni with fond memories of The Byrd, The Mosque and The Carpenter Center. And it was those experiences that led me to the Loew's Jersey, where I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time with my trusty little Panasonic camcorder.

  • Corrections (from video's creator)

    - Bob Martin is the person being recognized at the start of the speaker's intro

    - The name of the society is "Garden State Theatre Organ Society"

    - This is a Robert Morton Wonder Morton Organ

  • Superb organist and what a surprise to see the mighty wonder morton turn as it rises from the pit! Of course its the organist that makes it speak in it most grandeous tones! Thanks for recording this stellar moment in this theaters illustrious history! Wish I had been there!

  • i'm REALLY sorry ralph is gone. this was one fine musician folks.

  • @DrkOne633 I agree! I am a member of the St. Louis chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society. Some people don't seem to realize what these old machines can do.

  • Terrific - really brings out the goosebumps. Thanks for sharing this experience. P.S. Love the song, "Drums in My Heart" a rarely heard song by Youmans that Nelson Eddy popularized on his radio show in the 40's.

  • well done and well played - i used to get to hear a morton down in Austin Texas at Pizza and Pipes (I think) back when I was in university.

  • Chills.

  • LOVE IT thanks

  • BRAVO! And this is so close to me! I HAVE to see it now.
