I speak from experience that many people who lost someone dear to them become irrational, illogical, unreasonable, etc. I think this also applies to Jazz.

@Krillos To be fair the treason of Hobbes would have made sense even if he didn't turn out to be an infiltrator. After all, the confederation was planning a mass slaughter of possibly inoccent kilrathi - the ones on Kilrah that had no say about the war.
Say you joined an enemy of humanity because of the idiocy of your leadership and unecessary war you were fighting, but then said enemy turns out to be just as bad and plans to kill everyone on earth. Wouldn't you at least consider turning again?

@Krillos Jazz is a member of the Madarins. He wants personal revenge against the Tiger's Claw crew, but he doesn't really want to side with the Kilrathi. They want to join the Kilrathi......and then conquer them from within.

You usually get your ass handed to you in this mission, the four Drakhais are quite strong although you got a sabre.

Agreed. I still get vibes over my memories of this fabulous game!

I HATED the angle they took. Roberts really dicked all of this up because he "didn't like the fact there were human-allied Kilrathi."
The Roberts brothers are idiots; Chris Roberts did invent WC1 but really had very, very little to do with the franchise until 3 and again, very little to do with 4.
I would have bought Hobbes turning traitor if he didn't kill anyone and made it very, very clear he was leaving because of genocide. Not.. what he did.

"I cannot see anything more flawed in that revenge than Hobbes suddenly turned bad in Wing Commander 3."
Hobbes was actually forgivable. Well, the bit about him being a sleeper agent for Thrakath was rubbish, but his original motivation was supposed to be because the Confederation was going to blow the crap out of Kilrah. Mass genocide of billions men, women, and children. Hobbes was right to defect to try and prevent that.
Let me get this straight. Jazz seek revenge on Blair (AKA WarTourist) and the others who couldn't save his brother and his colony in time by joining the very enemy who's truly responsible for his brother's death?
...Wow. Just, wow. I cannot see anything more flawed in that revenge than Hobbes suddenly turned bad in Wing Commander 3. Blair's right, Jazz IS a sick bastard.
...Oh well! Wing Commander FTW!
