I say you did quite nicely on this one. Although i must recommend a bit more color correction. maybe darken the whole picture get the mesh to match that atmosphere.

you have to learn more about color corection

@aghaanantyab I know what you mean, but that's more related to the shot then any specific color correction technique. It's taken in dull lighting with plain white walls in the background. There's really no amount of color correcting that's going to magically turn this into a dynamic shot .Check my latest clip, where I composite a CG Iron Man helmet into a shot using a Vray HDRI map, I think you'll see an improvement :).

hi, nice job. Did you hand animate the eye movement or track the other eye as a separate solve and use that to drive the laser eye? If so could you elaborate a bit? thanks :)

@photonstudios Hey thanks man. I did end up animating the eye movements by hand, which wasn't as bad as it might sound. The eyes include a convenient "Look At" Helper in Max so all you have to do is move this little gizmo around and the eyes automatically follow it.
Then it was just a matter of scrubbing through the timeline and animating the eye based on the position of my real eye. Also, when shooting the clip I did purposely make decisive & specific movements with my eye, which helped alot.

What Program Did You Use? Just Curious

It's right up in the description there, but I used Syntheyes 2008 for the tracking, 3dsMax for the skull and stuff, and then After Effects to composite it all together.
I hadn't used Syntheyes before, but I was quite pleased with the workflow and the result.
