Yes, this was quick, but he did have the power. He also had some nice hard and soft personal touches with some well placed pauses. I usually don't like a fast kata, but his hip rotation was great throughout, and his tequniques were crisp. Most fast kata on here isn't like that. Very impressive. I like the last kia. Thanks for posting. Oss.

What defines a good kata. In my opinon it all depends on who is looking at it. All forms should contain and maintain certain body dynamics. Along with balance coordination, and certain skeletal and muscular alignments and all this should be controled by the mind. Hence the term MIND and BODy arts

I am learning this kata at the moment and although this looks really, really good it seems to be a little too quick.

Yes you are right....The most powerful Kata...My opinion...."Castle raiding " :D

He did perform it a little quick but I dont personally believe that a kata being performed quick is a bad thing if they can do it. I think that vihn phan can perform this kata at speed and without loosing the technique :)
5/5

I thought this was one of the better amateur bassai dai's out there. His hips are sharp, which is the most important part to a strong kata. People can point and wine about some small things, but overall, I felt that the hips kept up to the pace, and that's hard to accomplish. Nice.
