  • Well done. In the true spirit of fishing and not necessarily fly fishing. Mr Prosek was the perfect narrator for this since his voice lent a certain flavor that lacked arrogance and elitism. Much like Walton himself. I am sure he researched the topic Compleat-ly.

  • Elegiac, finely crafted and beautiful film about a timeless fishing quest. Not sure that the young Mr Prosek was the best narrator for this challenging production. Walton himself was a bit prosaic when it came to catching fish (mainly coarse species) and wasn't much of a fly fisherman, in contrast to the dashing young gent Charles Cotton.Prosek seemed oblivious that the original work was titled The Compleat Angler because of a printer's error but that Walton went along with it whimsically.

  • Great video, shows that angling is a great leveler and timeless.

  • That's a lovely series, thank you and a hymn to what remains beautiful in Britain. I suppose you have read 'Casting at the Sun' by Chris Yates - an utterly beautiful book much in the spirit of Walton.

  • i need to get that book this sure is incredible

  • study to be quiet, amazing,

  • amazing!

  • I enjoyed this, though not a fisherman. Hunter-gathering seems foolish now.

I liked Bloom's comments on Walton's times and probable effect on the book.

The film is classically lovely--gorgeous scenery, well-photographed--well-chosen dialogue, handsome main character, suitable music . I can wish for a more cynical attitude toward the privileges of wealth (designer dogs!) I liked the poetry, This is the first time I have been tempted to read Walton's book, which I have just gotten on my Kindle.

  • Beautifully written and filmed. Top notch. Thank you for sharing.

Now I have to read the book again.

  • wondering what song is he playing at 3.15-4.53..
