@iktyphiermaarwat I don't see how this applies to what I'm saying. A more in-depth sex education program would help decrease that rate. I know that I never got the talk from my parents while I did learn tons at school. I result I am far more careful and concerned about STIs and possible pregnancy than my mother is. School needs to teach indepth sex education for the safety of the children because not all parents do the job.

@Darkenedavo I disagree with you because out of experience I know I would'n have done some sorts of things if my mom had given me a little advise. She tells me now she regrets things she did when she was still young, but never told me anything when I was a teenager. I believe I could have avoided some situations if she had told me she regretted them herself afterwards. If you're still not convinced you must see the episode of TYT about the increasing teen pregnancies in conservative states.

I think that it's a good thing kids in elementary school know about their PRIVATE parts. That way they can be warned against child molesters. Also I think there could be a question during medical examination for the kids in Middle School about if a parent abuses them or if they know someone that is being abused. Not that I'm suggesting schools should have the right to intrude in the privacy of a family, but maybe it can help some children come forward with their problems.

I'm thinking different ways to have sex is about different ways to protect themselves. I don't think it's teaching kids the different positions :p

South Park did a joke about sex ed in Kindergarten.

The only thing you need to do in public school is just teach the kids the anatomy and how the human race reproduces at an appropriate age (about 10 or 11) and leave the rest of that shit to the discretion of the parents. Anything else and the school is then playing philosopher to either a left or right wing extent and thereby encroaching.

thumbs up if you like MT Sex Ed Proposal Sparks Outrage
WAY too liberal. i'm a progressive but fuck me that's too much. my mom never bullshitted me about sex and i did fine. no sex ed until highschool. conservatives gotta take your side here, we need to do it early but this is WAY too early.

You people say "Leave it to the parents." Yet their kids are having sex at 13 and having children themselves at 15. SHUTUP and let the PUBIC SCHOOLS teach children about sex.
I knew about sex by the time I was in 3rd grade and was taught sex ed in 4th and 5th grade in a Maryland public school.
