We have the same safety warning devices for the streetcar fleet in Toronto, they're armed with horns and bells/gongs, though the horns are high-pitched sound like an oldies car horn.

Riding the cable cars and the F Market line is always the best part of my trips to San Francisco. The PCC's are great, but these orange Milan streetcars are really unique! Beautiful photography
