I don't know why so many people hate him. He has so many great ideas, it's the damn liberals that derailed them.

Newt's new Contract, clearly, is an attempt to short-circuit pro-liberty dynamics of our time, from the Paul movement, to the tea parties, to end/audit the Fed, the state sovereignty efforts et al, and once again replace it with a counterfeit agenda. You can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Newt's Contract in 1994 was successful, in that it worked to co-opt the momentum of the term limits, land rights, militia, 10th Amendment, etc liberty movements of the mid-'90's. It derailed all those efforts, and pulled all the focus back to the left-right paradigm, whereupon Gingrich fell on his sword and led the GOP to its cave-in to the Clinton regime after the OKC bombing.

both parties suck, but the Libertarians have nothing constructive to offer. A libertarian-led administration would be even more disastrous than 8 years of Bush/Cheney, because Libertarianism has no basis in fact, it's all wishful thinking. Ayn Rand is stupid.

no such luck, I'm talking about the G.O.P. Your party and ideology has failed America and the world (not that you give a shit about the world outside the USA)

he is smart, but he can't control his mouth or his hedonistic appetites - maybe if he grows up someday - like Clinton did - he can be a true leader

LOL, yea he was a true leader alright.

He led a lot of interns to the space under his desk.

it's just a step - the public option is the wedge the gov't will use to get to the real agenda: universal health care - it's inevitable - probably take about 12 years - but it'll come -
