Trip to the 'world's most visited city' Tijuana in Baja California, Mexico on Aug. 13, 2011. Tijuana is the 42nd largest city in the Americas and is the westernmost city in Mexico. It is the largest city on the Baja California Peninsula and center of the Tijuana metropolitan area, part of the international San Diego--Tijuana metropolitan area. The city is the world's most visited border city, sharing a 24-km border (15 mi) with San Diego, California, USA.
Over 50 million people cross the border between these two cities every year. This metropolitan crossing makes the San Ysidro Port of Entry the busiest land-border crossing in the world. The two border crossing stations between San Diego and Tijuana account for over 300,000 daily border crossings alone.
