I grew up in a two parent home and I was miserable.

I'm a 32 year old black woman, I don't have any children nor have I ever been pregnant. When women ask me why this is, I tell them because I don't have a husband. I then get the " You better hurry up" or " Your living in a fantasy world". I tell them, I rather live in my fantasy than in your nightmare! Dealing with child support, 3 baby daddies. I'm not super-woman I want a father for my children!

This is good advice for all women, not just black women. I think the issue of poor family planning has more to do with socio-ecomonic factors than it does race. It makes me sad when I hear people talk about fatherless homes as if this is a black problem - it sends the message that black people fundamentally make poor choices.

So right my protection is not having sex at all and the shot because its free! But i agree with some of what you are saying. I was a naive teen had a baby at the age of 19 after i graduated but it wasnt easy but she is such a beauty her and her father are twins. Im not on housing i pay all my own bills and take care of both of my kids but you are right about the unplanned babies. Both are my kids are ten years apart i thought i would have one for life but my husband and i didnt plan.

@luvblackmanmyman I have to agree on that not all but i have saw 2 done this and one was considering having another kid and the baby she has she doesnt even like meaning never connected in a motherly way with that child since birth and she' just 2. i cant see why people do that type of stuff! Those be the females who worship males over there kids.

The black community itself has fell off. Let's not point the finger at the black man or the black woman, we are all in this together. I think it's ridiculous that our black men are choosing to live the wrong lifestyle and our women are clearly choosing the wrong men. However, you cannot look at a man and know who he is..you have to get to know him because all black men are not the same.
