Dude, I was just a few years old when the mix went down. I remember being in Junior High and hearing his song.

I loved this Christmas special. These and many other Christmas specials (Perry Como, Dean Martin, Andy Williams) would have great appeal to us baby boomers. If anyone out there that's reading this has the power to resurrect these specials on DVD, please do so. I would also love John Denver's special on the Merv Griffin show that featured the Starland Vocal Band. I have part of that show but I'd love to get the whole thing.

There is a pirate copy of this(& a few other specials) floating around the net,which I've ordered for Xmas.(Email me if you want details)I have no idea if the quality will be any good,but until they release'official' versions,it's all we have.On the plus side,I read somewhere they're FINALLY gonna release the JD/Muppets Xmas special on Nov 4.(NOT the rogue VHS transfer that's already out there)I hope,I hope!

I like what you said about them singing in heaven. Mom always told me she hoped she could fly all over the world and see everything she never got to see before God took her to heaven. I like to believe she got to do just that, and now they are there together. Thank you for your words. :)

My mum died a year ago after a long painful illness.She was an opera singer,but after hearing me play his LPs alot,he won her over & thru' the yrs it became like he was part of our family.1 of my fave memories is taking her to a 1988 JD concert.She loved it,espec. singing ONJ's bit in Fly Away & she got teary after 'Heart to Heart.'JDRKGGDS,I like to imagine our mums are singing in heaven with JD.It's a thought that comforts & makes me smile.Maybe it'll give you some solace too.Peace.

It's a dome in /near Aspen especially built for the 1975 special "Rocky Mountain Christmas",which was recorded inside it.It was beautiful in the snow.He even had butterflies inside the thing,which kept sitting on his nose.

Great song, two great performers. This was from a John Denver TV special. They were in giant bubble surrounded on the outside but the winter wonderland in Colorado. I remember this performance like it was yesterday. Will someone please convince the video companies to release these great old variety specials on DVD???? Most of them aired only the one time and it was before everyone had a VCR in their homes.
