Democracy is of course itself flawed as it usually leads to the tyranny of the majority or the tyranny of the elite. Without the protection of civil liberties and constitutional safeguards an independent judiciary and legal system this is simply doomed to failure. How is Islams position on that, considering the injustice we see in Islamic countries such as Iran, Pakistan, Persian Gulf newly formed states and so forth?
