2008 Martial Arts Championships - No Gi Grappling - Match 1

Location: Civic Center Rapid City, SD
Date: November 22nd
Outcome: Lost due to submission (didn't tap referee thought I did)

Commentary:
I'm the longer haired guy on the right
Got lazy and gave up the guillotine choke
Was able to survive due to half guard rather than full guard
Choke was in TIGHT but I could get a little air
Left arm was trapped and couldn't get over opponents right shoulder for proper defense
Got frustrated and slammed down on his elbow to try and pry head out which led to referee stoppage
Very dissapointed

I agree, didnt look like u tapped to me. My guess is the ref doesnt know the game or the ref and the guy you lost to are from the same school. Happens alot in these "open" tournaments. That's why I stopped going to them, only go to sanctioned events. A guy puts in the blood, sweat, aches, pains, money, travel time, time off from work ect to go to these then can't get a fair match. Know ur pain.
