The Brazilian government is planning a series of large hydroelectric dams on the Amazon's principal tributary, the Madeira River. These dams will cause enormous environmental impacts, and activists are mobilizing to argue against their construction
I think it is high time that we respect the indigenous people of the Amazon Rain Forest and surrounding areas, and their right to be left alone. The Amazon Rain Forest is also a dream vacation destination for me, and I hope to be able to see the Amazon and the Pantanal someday. This is an area of unparalleled beauty; please don't let them destroy it. Perhaps Hugo Chavez could help with the energy crisis. He seems to have the best interest of South America at heart.
Hello Glenn...
