SDSU President Stephen L. Weber, dressed in his commencement regalia and wielding a large pair of scissors, cut the celebratory ribbon to officially open a new SDSU campus this week. Only, it wasnt Weber in the flesh, it was his avatar in the online 3D virtual world of Second Life®.
The new virtual campus in Second Life® is called Aztlan Island, named after the legendary ancestral home of the Nahua peole. Aztec is the Nahuatl word for people of Aztlan.
Weber was awesome, miss that dude

So far, what's the project evolved to? Does anyone know?
Virtual universes are interesting for projections, simulations and design in general, but are students expected to attend classes there or collaborate?
I'm puzzled.
