Get Together - Freedom Road

"Freedom Road" was founded in 1969 and rocked northern Iowa and southern Minnesota for over six years. "Freedom Road" was inducted into the Iowa Rock N Roll Music Association's Hall of Fame on Sunday, September 4, 2011. Like most bands, there were personnel changes over those years, however, there was one member who never missed a practice and played in every "Freedom Road" performance. That was Mike Woltz.

In the absence of footage from the induction performance (hope to get some footage soon), this video was created from footage of the second to the last rehearsal prior to the induction.

The message of "Get Together" was certainly relevant in the 1960s and is just (or more) relevant today. Many of us grasped the message way back when and have attempted to live our lives accordingly while the message seemingly escaped others.

C'mon people now ... smile on your brother
Everybody get together ... try to love one another right now.

There are those who make it most difficult to even like, let alone love but we must try. Patience, tolerance and God's grace is the key.
