From april 4 to 23, 2011, the CECI in partnership with USAID through a project named "Met kò veye kò", called on more than 30 rara groups to take part in an awareness campaign for the population of the Artibonite Department and many of its most remote villages, about the ravages caused by the cholera epidemic in this region as well as throughout the country.

The cholera is not defeated, cholera continues to claim lives

Rara is a form used for street processions, typically during Easter Week.
The music centers on a set of cylindrical bamboo trumpets calledvaksen (shich may also be made of metal pipes),
The songs are always performed in Haitian Kreyòl
