  • you are absolutely wrong

    1) studio owners don't care if you have a degree

for them you are just a newbie

    2) even getting an internship it is very hard

    3) even if you get an intern, it doesn't necessary mean you are gonna be paid after that

    4) if i have to work 2 years unpaid what's the point to spend other money for sound engineering school?

5)the industry is not huge as you think and most importantly jobs are not advertised, so if don't know "right people", you'll never get any job

  • what are the odds of actually landing a decent paying job as an audio tech?

sounds interesting but a lil farfetched

  • You will never truly know through the eyes and ears of another person : before I started going to an AUDIO ENGINEERING school I was reading forums like this one - where people would put down school or say the industry is shot and its hard to get a job - the getting a job part is true - it is really hard - but that doesnt mean you cant work for one - you get what you put in - this industry you really have to hustle and put in work : i just started interning for this studio in SF - im learningalot

  • @added23

    the point is:

if you are really good (and i mean really really really good) they are gonna hire you.

But in this case, why would you be hired?

Just start up your own studio.

bear in mind that 99% of studios are facing bad business and many of them are closing down.

So a degree does not really make a difference as it is not recognized by the industry

  • @banzostrummer so ur saying theyre gonna hire unqualified people for their company?? doesnt sound too smart to me

  • @added23

because usually qualified people want some money in return!

  • @banzostrummer why wouldnt studio owners care if you have a degree?? u think theyre just gonna hire some random dude that knows nothing about audio engineering??

  • @banzostrummer I really want to be a Jazz and Hip Hop producer. Thank you very much for the information. I just asked a DJ if i could shadow him at certain functions, i guess that's one step closer

  • @blackezi3 no! that's the point! there is no correlation between having a certificate in audio engineering and having more chances to get an internshio

  • @banzostrummer Thank you for the information. Would a certificate help? I know it may be hard to get an internship, would it help to get my foot in the door?
