I took a video to document how quick a 60GB OCZ Vertex II SSD was in a ThinkPad.

Setup is as follows:
Lenovo ThinkPad T400
2.53Ghz Intel Core2Duo
4GB Dual Channel PC3-8500 RAM
Intel 4 Chipset
GMA4500HD, ATI 3400 256MB (Switchable Graphics) (active)
60GB OCZ Vertex II SSD
SlimLine DVD-+RW DL
1280x800 TFT LED LCD
Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

Sorry for the sound, I took the video and since I am taking care of my dad, it's inevitable that he would be watching TV while I do this.

I have since moved onto a SanDisk 120GB SSD. If you go to lenovo's site, download the power management and display switching software. It will allow you to switch between Energy Saving (Integrated Graphics) or High Performance (Dedicated)

  • I have the same exact laptop, got it used yesterday, and I love it, the t9400 cpu is a beast with 6mb L2 cache and 2.5ghz, Im going to have 8gb ddr3 installed soon, it did have a 32-bit os but I reinstalled the os with windows 7 64-bit, but one question how do you switch the graphics while in windows?
