The west was scared of Gaddafi. I see dumbass down there saying hide behind women. Not nearly as gay as American presidents hiding behind men is it? Gaddafi helped many people in Africa, and that's why the west was scared of him, because they are scared of a united Africa. They would not be where they are today if not for Africa's resources. Say what you like but no denying that Gaddafi had a lot of natural charisma that potentially could have united Africa. They had to kill him just for that.

He was a leader who tried to do what was right - but no matter what he did (giving up his nuclear program, giving women rights, providing free healthcare to his people, free education, etc, it was not enough for those who had their minds on Libyan oil. Libya was debt free under Muammar Gadaffi. Now the al qaeda rebels who took up the offer waved under their noses to be sitting in power, will have to pay back their debtors for all those bombs, and weapons they got. Libyan blood was not enough.

Gaddafi invaded Egypt and Chad, then supported the Kabila family in DRC and Idi Amin of Uganda while they were going their asses kicked by other African armies that were not supported by the West. I can't see how he tried to unite Africa like that.
