On Saturday January 31st IMAN made a historic step in these very historic times. It hosted its first Community Café outside Chicago in the space profoundly associated with one of the most extraordinary and influential American Muslims of the 20 Century. The Audubon Ballroom, now the Malcolm X & Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial and Educational Center, was the location for a dynamic Community Café line-up on Saturday January 31st where inspirational artistic expression intersected with a larger grassroots vision for community connection and activism.
