Most of the alpha series were eventually converted like this but went into coma or became pschologically mad since splicers learned how to take them down. The mad alpha daddies were used as foot soldiers (for what i don't know). But Delta shot himself under influence by lamb moments before the atlas vs ryan war broke out on new years day 1959. If you want to know what happens next, I suggest you pick up Bioshock 2 and have fun :)

Gil Alexander picked up the pace and started to work on the alpha series. Test candidates came from Persephone (prison). Around this time, Johnny topside found rapture and at first people were amazed. Ryan was paranoid of him and threw him in Persephone. Months later, Johnny becomes subject delta. He was subjected to numerous amounts of prototype plasmids before being selected to be the first new big daddy to be bonded to a little sister through mental conditioning to eleanor lamb...

Fontaine has his illegal smuggling buisness's in Fontaine Fisheries. It was here he met Tennebaum and the adam slugs which he used to create a whole new genetic advance in Rapture called plasmids. Little sisters where a success but they needed someone to guard them. Suchong first worked on them creating one similar to the regular big daddies, but had limited attention span and would wander off. (He eventually discovered this after hitting a L.S and a B.D impaled him despite lack of attention)..

@littlemaster22 Subject Delta was originally a guy called "Johnny Topside" who discovered Rapture whilst deep-sea diving, Ryan thought Johnny might be a spy so they detained Johnny and placed him in experiments with other "criminals" and innevitably the "little sister protection" programme. He was paired with Elanor after Sofia Lamb was confined to Persephone for creating a social uprising against Ryan. Check out the "Bioshock: Rapture [Book]" it has all this info. FANTASTIC book.
