In the spring of 1987, a few weeks after receiving the Pulitzer Prize, Rita Dove is reading several of her poems at "Writers at Work" in Park City, Utah. (Correction: The event she refers to in the first poem took place in 1937, not 1957.)

Of all of her work, this is among my several favorites. And to see her read it in 1987 is a real treat. At the top of her game.

Rita Dove is awesome. "Parsley" is such a haunting poem....it makes you feel, rage and mourn all at the same time. Thanks for posting this video.
