Early Jem's were basswood and Ernieball petrucci's were basswood up until the BFR version. Neither of these guitar are considered "beginner" nor are they cheap. Many players prefer the light weight and medium tonal qualities. Someday you'll know what you're talking about when you grow the fuck up...

But anyways thats the RETAIL signature guitar, you dont think someone like Noodles whos signature guitar is only about $650 (Depending where you get it) would ACTUALLY be playing a guitar JUST like that.
